Owner Royan Herman

Wearing a big smile and a red vest, Peacock Hill owner Royan Herman is surrounded by three curious horses.

Royann Herman owns and manages Peacock Hill. A lifelong horsewoman, she has also run a variety of marketing companies. She is an active member of the Shadow Hills riding community, representing equestrian interests at civic hearings, council and committee meetings. She is a tireless advocate for equines and the people that love them and is a voice of reason in a regulatory environment that trends toward increasing the level of difficulty for urban horse owners.

In addition to the horses, Peacock Hill is home to a lively band of dogs and cats, all of them rescued. She also operates the Peacock Hill Foundation, which takes in abandoned and abused horses for rehabilitation and rehomes them.

Peacock Hill is also home to the annual Equestrian Trails Inc. Corral 20 Harvest Moon fundraiser, held each October, with a live band, barnyard dancing, a silent auction and plenty of delicious food and drink. The event is the primary funding source for ETI’s annual trail clearance and maintenance efforts.

Known as much for her larger-than-life personality as for her big heart, Herman has a Hollywood pedigree. Her father was a Hollywood actor.
